What does Youth Futures do?
At Youth Futures we are committed to providing young people with the opportunities, skills and support they need to create a brighter future. To help them achieve this, we offer a number of Homelessness, Education, and Support services. To find out more about our organisation and the specific programs we run visit the About Us page.
Where do you operate?
Our head office is located in Joondalup, Western Australia. We also have offices in Mt Lawley and Fremantle, and provide support to young people across the Perth metropolitan area.
What age are the young people you help?
The majority of young people we work with are aged between 14 and 25, however many of our programs help young parents who have babies and children under the age 14.
Are you affiliated with a particular religion?
No, we are a community organisation that accepts young people for who they are regardless of their religion, race, sexual orientation etc.
I’d like to access one of your services, how do I go about it?
It is best to give us a call on 08 9300 2677 to find out if we have any vacancies and if you are eligible for the program. Please keep in mind that our Youth Workers are often with clients throughout the day so it may take up to 24 hours for the relevant person to get back to you. If we are unable to assist we will provide you with some other options to try.
Do you charge young people to use your services?
All of our programs are offered free of charge, except for TINOCA our crisis accommodation hostel which does charge a small fee per night to those receiving a government payment.
Do you offer work experience?
We’re not able to offer high school students work experience however we accept a number of TAFE and university students each year. Students must be studying a relevant course such as Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work or Psychology. It is preferred that prac placements are organised through your lecturer however you are welcome to submit an expression of interest via our Contact Us page.
Can you help me with my school/TAFE/uni assignment?
Unfortunately we don’t have the resources to help students with their assignments. For information on our organisation and services we recommend you look through our website in detail. For statistics on issues such as youth homelessness we recommend you visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Shelter WA.
